Natural Minimalist Fall Porch
As soon as I heard that my favorite local garden shop, Orchard Nursery had pumpkins, I ran down and filled my car with all the fall goodness. I absolutely love decorating my porch for fall and I prefer to use natural elements. So instead of jumping the gun and using faux pumpkins the second Starbuck’s releases their PSL’s, I wait it out for the real deal.
As I was filling my cart with mums and pumpkins, I spotted this beautiful plant with wispy, feathery stems. It reminds me a bit of pampas grass. And if you have been around lately, you know I am a bit obsessed with pampas grass. I made this Dried Floral Arrangement and also a Mini Pampas Grass Wreath a few weeks ago.
The plant is Ruby Grass and the color is called pink crystals. I just love it and knew when I spotted it that it would be pretty as a highlight of my minimalist fall porch.
Decorating my porch with pumpkins and mums is my favorite. The past few years I have used this combination and it never fails to impress. You can see my previous years fall porches here:

Outdoor Fall Decorating Ideas
When decorating with pumpkins and mums on the porch, I like to place the pumpkin in the front and use the mums to fill in the gaps and add additional color.
I also love to stack pumpkins, especially the cinderella variety.
There is nothing more classic than a stack of pretty pumpkins flanking the front door.
