My Coastal Summer Mantel is inspired by our trips to Nantucket. Beachy art, a collection of seashells and summer blooms come together for a modern, yet coastal look.
As I write this, we are on the plane on our way to our favorite summer vacation – Nantucket! We love to spend time on this island off the coast of Massachusetts. The town is filled with special memories for our family.
So, in honor of this beautiful location, I decorated our summer mantel with the that quaint coastal town as my inspiration.
I let my new artwork take center stage and kept the rest of the look simple, modern and beachy. Come see all the details!
Coastal Summer Mantel Decor
Over time, my mantel decor has gotten a lot simpler! While I used to decorate for every holiday, now I lean towards a more style. So, rather than decorating for each holiday, now I focus on the season and sometimes add a few extra touches for our favorite holidays.
Soft blues, warm wood tones and a collection of seashells are the perfect starting point for this coastal-inspired mantel.
Coastal Inspired Artwork
This coastal-inspired mantel is centered around this new artwork. I am loving the simplicity and modern look of these prints by artist Kristin Boydstun.
The Abstract Waves print mimics the sea foam found at the oceans edge. And I love the soft blue color.
The Shoreline print in front is a minimalist drawing of people bathing at the beach. And both prints can be ordered in multiple sizes. I placed the art in frames from Target and Pottery Barn.
Similarly, on the other side of the mirror, I have a watercolor print of a vine covered cottage in Nantucket. See, there is nothing more iconic in Nantucket than a silver shingled home covered in roses!
In addition to the Nantucket-inspired artwork, I added a seagrass vase filled with garden roses along with a jar holding all the seashells we have collected on our beach trips and a few candles in votives.
