Decorate your home for Halloween with these cute flying bats! This Halloween front porch decor is a fun and modern way to decorate for the holiday.
If you saw my Halloween Front Door Garland last week, then you may have seen this coming.
I used the rest of the pack of bat cutouts that I found in the Dollar Spot at Target and created this flying bats Halloween front porch!
It was so easy to do and is fun and not too scary for the little kids.
Flying Bats Halloween Front Porch
Last month we finally painted our house. The color is Benjamin Moore White Dove.
I knew that the white house with black shutters would be perfect for these cute flying bat cutouts!
And if you have been following along for awhile now you know this year I am keeping things pretty simple.
I am using what I have and not really buying anything new. Although I did purchase the $3 pack of paper bats. But other than that, some real pumpkins and mums are all that I added to my porch for fall.
I used the same doormat and layered rug that I have had for a few years now. And if you want to see how to layer rugs and my favorite combinations for fall, check out this post: Layered Rugs For Fall.
Adding a few real pumpkins and some white mums is all it takes to add a little seasonal flair to this Halloween front porch.
And once Halloween is over, I can peel off the bats and keep the rest of the porch the same until Christmas.
Although, I may add back my Fall Eucalyptus Wreath once Halloween is over.
Flying Bats Halloween Decorations
I think this flying bats Halloween front porch idea is one of my easiest ones yet.
I found the pack of bat cutouts at Target Dollar Spot and used them to make a Halloween Door Garland. And I had plenty left over to use for this Halloween front porch too.
Then I taped them to the door using the enclosed foam stickers and made it look like it was a swarm of bats flying through the air.
Now, if you are a lazy crafter like me, check out these links to the cutouts you can purchase from Etsy:
Halloween Cardstock Bat Cutouts
Simple, easy and little kid friendly. Although, my older kids are begging for some scarier Halloween decorations this year, lol! It seems once they reach the age of 10 the cute decor doesn’t cut it any longer. I told them they could add in some scary sound effects and some spider webs once we get closer to the date.
A few years ago I used this same flying bats idea for my Halloween mantel. I used the Martha Stewart bats and attached them to our shiplap wall.
I lined the mantelpiece with cute little sugar pumpkins and draped some black netting. You can check out more details HERE.
Ideas For Halloween Front Porch
Here are a few other ideas that I have shared in the past for decorating your front porch for Halloween.
This Glam Farmhouse Halloween Porch is decorated with vintage inspired party decorations. This was fun to install and I love the nostalgic feel to the decor.
And if you prefer a little less fuss, this more traditional Halloween Porch features black and white with a bit of orange.
Now, be sure to check out these beautiful outdoor fall spaces being shared by my friends for the Seasonal Simplicity Series. I love getting inspired and all of these spaces are just gorgeous!
And today I’ve joined some of my talented blogging friends who are also sharing their outdoor spaces decked out for fall. You can hop around and check out their posts by clicking on the links below their image.

Love, love, love the bats! When I saw them on your Instagram I couldn’t figure out how you did it! So clever! Your entire porch is perfectly done … and you know I’m in love with your front door color. It works beautifully for fall. I hear it’s going to cool down tomorrow and I’m going to venture out for pumpkins. I’ll be studying your pumpkin placement as I shop … hopefully I can get mine looking half as nice. xo

I can’t wait to see your fall porch! Orchard Nursery has some beautiful pumpkins this year.
