Christmas Home Tour 2020
Welcome to my Christmas home tour! If you are new here, welcome!
I am Ashley, wife and mom to two young kids. Our family lives in the suburbs of San Francisco and we have been updating our California ranch since we moved in 10 years ago.
My husband is a contractor and it seems we always have a project going on – follow along as we tackle our home renovation one project at a time!
2020 for our family has been about slowing down, simplifying things and definitely decluttering. Less is more over here! So, come along for my christmas home tour and I’ll show you what’s new and what’s different. And I hope you maybe get inspired, gather some ideas and enjoy this little peek into our home.
Simple Christmas Front Porch
Our front porch is decorated with just a few greens, twinkle lights and lanterns.
I made this faux cedar wreath with some velvet ribbon and brass bells. You can find the full DIY HERE. It really is so simple to make and makes our Christmas front porch feel complete!
One of the big projects we completed this year was installing these Connecticut bluestone pavers on our covered porch. They make such a huge difference and now our porch feels like another room in our home!
Ok, I have kept the porch pretty simple for the holidays. And that gives you an idea of what the rest of my decor will be like. So, let’s continue the christmas home tour and go inside!
Cozy Christmas Kitchen
Our kitchen got a few updates for the holidays, but I kept it pretty minimal. I have some great ways you can tastefully decorate your kitchen for Christmas in THIS POST.
I never like my kitchen to feel cluttered at Christmas and extra decorations can sometimes feel that way. And I have 5 ideas that add that holiday sparkle and charm without going overboard.
Adding twinkle lights to the kitchen during the holidays if a must for me. We seem to spend a lot of time in here during this time of year so the extra sparkle feels cozy, You can see more pictures of our kitchen by visiting my Cozy Christmas Kitchen post.
Christmas Home Tour: Living Room
Ok, next up on the Christmas home tour is our living room. This is where we spend most of our time. Our main tree is here and we spend a lot of time next to the fire!
I decorated our Christmas tree in a Scandinavian inspired theme this year. Paper snowflakes, wood bead garland, glass balls and ceramic houses complete this simple but festive look.
You can see more images, details and links to products in THIS POST.
Our mantel this year is one of my favorite spaces. I mean I always love decorating this spot, but this year it feels so me!
From the cozy christmas stockings to the simple artwork, the whole look is very simple yet still festive. And it was so easy to decorate! You can see more images, details and links to products in THIS POST.
We just recently added these built ins to our TV area. I am loving the extra storage, and another spot to decorate for the holidays!
Gingerbread Table
I definitely have a gingerbread theme going on this year. So, I decided put together this fun and casual Gingerbread table setting.
I filled glass jars with sugar and added some homemade gingerbread houses to them. I saved some from my Gingerbread Mug Toppers and used them too.
A few branches of fresh greens and it’s such an easy Christmas centerpiece idea!
Each place setting is set simply with a rose gold charger, white plate, linen napkin and vintage European hotel flatware.
I have actually had these jars on our table for a few weeks now. I love that the centerpiece can stay throughout the holiday. You could even use a faux garland instead of the real branches to make it last longer!

Oh so beautiful. I adore your tree, it looks amazing and those little houses and candles are the perfect addition. Each space in your home is put together so thoughtfully. Love your new builtins and the mantel is perfect. I think my favorite has to be the tablescape with the little gingerbread houses. Those are just the cutest ever and the table looks so beautiful.
