I love updating my front porch and Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays! This simple Valentine porch decor is perfect for greeting guests and putting a smile on their face.
Simple Valentine’s Day Porch Decor
January can give you a real case of the doldrums. It’s hard to recover from the delight and beauty that the holidays hold. And then to have a few long months of winter ahead. Oh boy, it can be a real downer.
One of the ways I brighten my home (and my spirit) is by adding a little bit of Valentine’s Day decor. This year, I kept the inside of my home simple and white and focused on adding some Valentine spirit to my front porch.
And when I painted our front door pink last fall, I knew it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. So, I was excited to share this fun seasonal update with you!
Valentine Front Door Decorations
Adding some Valentine’s day decor to your porch doesn’t have to be a chore. First, I pulled out some of my favorite Valentine decorations.
The thing about buying seasonal decor that is simple, classic and that you love, is that you can will want to reuse them year after year.
I have had these two pom pom garlands and this Target LOVE banner for at least 4 years and I use them in a different way each year.
Last year I used them to drape my Valentine’s Day mantel.
Decorating your porch for Valentine’s day doesn’t have to be over the top and extravagant. Simple pink and red additions added to your regular porch decorations can be all it takes.
Valentine Decor
I used this faux potted cedar tree on my Colorful Farmhouse Christmas Porch. I love the simple pop of evergreen so much that I kept it here for the winter months.
To update it for Valentine’s Day, I created paper heart ornaments. Using Japanese washi paper, I glued two hearts together and sandwiched some bakers twine in the middle.
A simple 5 minute craft that adds a festive touch to the door for nearly next to nothing! I love the whimsical feel the hearts add to this Valentine’s Day porch decor.
Valentine Wreath
Creating a Valentine wreath doesn’t have to be a full DIY event. I took this pom pom wreath and added a simple paper banner that I made from scrapbook paper and stamps.
Now, I actually had this banner from a Valentine’s wreath that I made over 8 years ago. So, I borrowed it and tied it onto this pom pom wreath. It adds a bit of Valentine cheer to this winter front porch.
And once Valentine’s Day is over I can untie the banner and keep the wreath in place. Although, by that time I may be ready to start decorating for Spring! We shall see!
Favorite Valentine’s Day Decor
Now, I didn’t buy anything new for this simple Valentine’s Day front porch. But, I rounded up some similar items and some new favorites too!
Well, let me know what you think of my simple Valentine porch decor. It doesn’t take much to add a little happy and festive cheer to your front door. By adding a few seasonal touches, I think it brightens up my winter porch!
