I really can’t believe that the holidays are quickly approaching! What a year it has been. I am craving simplicity and less fuss more than ever.
This simple Thanksgiving table idea is a culmination of everything I have been leaning towards this year. Minimal styling and effortless ideas that are still big on style.
Thanksgiving Centerpiece Idea For An Intimate Setting
I do love to plan and design a pretty tablescape and this Thanksgiving table idea started with a collaboration with my friend, Jennifer that owns Busy Bees Floral Design. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, she is crazy talented! I have never seen flowers like she does.
Jennifer helped bring my vision to life with this insanely gorgeous floral arrangement. All of my favorite fall colors, textures and blooms are included in this pretty arrangement.
Fall for me is all about the warm tones that mimic what is found in nature. As the beautiful summer blooms fade to a soft blush and the green leaves turn to a rich rust color, everything feels softer, warmer and more inviting. Do you feel the same way?
This Thanksgiving floral arrangement incorporates all the rich colors of autumn with garden roses, cosmos, mums, tulips, wheat, grasses, fall leaves and even some mandarins!
Ideas To Decorate The Table For Thanksgiving Dinner
Now, I realize that not everyone is going to be able to order a fabulous flower arrangement for their Thanksgiving table. But, you could also achieve this same look and feel with a vase filled with fall leaf branches, a simple arrangement of blush roses or even pampas grass like this foraged Thanksgiving Table.
Once you have a simple, but elegant centerpiece, the rest of the Thanksgiving table is decorated relatively simply.
I placed a linen runner down the center of the table in a pretty cool gray color. With the flowers being so beautiful, I wanted to keep the rest of the table pretty neutral.
As a side note, I am currently obsessed with this shop on Etsy. She has the most beautiful table linens that wash up so well and get better the more you use them. And I have been buying and using her linens for years.
If you are having a smaller Thanksgiving gathering this year, it is always nice to leave a little room on the table for serving dishes, condiments or baskets filled with rolls. I don’t like to fill the center of the table with too many decorations.
So, for this Thanksgiving table, I placed a few votives and candlesticks down the length of the table. These can easily be moved or shifted to accommodate food once dinner is served.
Table Setting Ideas For Thanksgiving Dinner
Now, one of my favorite things about this simple Thanksgiving table idea is the place setting. I found these gratitude napkins and think they are so perfect, especially for this year. They come in a set of 12 and each have a different quote.
This place setting features this quote from E. E. Cummings:
“I thank God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which in infinite, which is yes.”
These napkins really make this Thanksgiving place setting, don’t they? So, I kept the rest of the place setting simple and neutral.
I topped each salad plate with a copper mug that will hold my favorite fall cocktail, the Moscow Mule. And for the little ones, their mugs will be filled with my most popular drink recipe, Spicy Pear Punch.
