Rustic Summer Tablescape
Summer means more opportunities to spend time with family and friends. The days are longer and what better way to spend the evenings than by hosting loved ones. This modern farmhouse summer tablescape is the perfect setting for a casual dinner surrounded by good food and good company!
And the best part is it’s easy to put together. A simple summer tablescape doesn’t have to be boring. This table is put together using our everyday glasses, plates and silverware.
But by adding in-season summer wildflowers and pretty table linens, the entire look is elevated! Plus, let’s not forget the candlelight.

The candles on this summer tablescape are a mixture of votives and candlesticks. What I love most about this is the history behind them. Two of the crystal candlesticks belonged to my mom and the other two were a gift for our wedding. I treasure them and the memories that they each hold.
Modern Farmhouse Summer Table Setting
Another thing I love about this summer table setting is the mixture of soft linen tablecloths, antique flatware, earthy hand thrown pottery and vintage breadboards. The earthenware and causal linens provide an overall feeling of understated elegance, yet it is still casual enough to not feel stuffy!
The plates are from my favorite Farmhouse Pottery out of Woodstock, VT. My husband and I visited their workshop two years ago. You can read all about Fall In Vermont and my travel guide for the best places to visit, stay and eat at!
And the silver is European hotel silver that I picked up at a local antique shop, Elsie Greene. I love that each piece is unique. Look at that monogram! I can only imagine the history that each piece holds!
At each place setting I tied my favorite linen napkins with burlap twine and tucked a fern stem inside. I love the pop of greenery it adds to the plate without being too fussy.
Summer Table Centerpiece with Dahlias
To create this rustic summer tablescape, I layered my favorite linen tablecloth and runner. Then I pulled out my vintage breadboards. I wanted to bring an earthy feel to the table and I think these definitely do that!
Then I placed this beautiful flower arrangement in the middle of the table. You can see more details by reading my Rustic Summer Centerpiece with Dahlias post.
I added bud vases filled with wildflowers and layered in some votive candles. Because candlelight always makes things feel more special!
