Wondering how to decorate your mantel for spring? I am here to show you my easy and foolproof way to decorate your fireplace, no matter the season!
Adding some seasonal decor to your mantel doesn’t have to be complicated. No matter the season, these tips will help you add a little personality to your mantel or shelves.
How To Decorate Your Mantel For Spring
Since starting my blog, I feel like I am constantly changing my mantel decorations. For every season and holiday I switch things around and update the decor. I love the creativity.
I have figured out the best and easiest way to decorate the fireplace and mantel. And I’m excited to share with you my favorite tips today!
So whether you like to decorate your mantel for every season or just keep it simple year round, these tips will leave you with a beautifully decorated mantel, fireplace or bookshelf!
Tip #1: Create a focal Point
Whether it be a large piece of art, a TV or a mirror, create a focal point to work from. Here, I have my mirror serving as this focal point. I like to center it above the mantel without too much room underneath.
Tip #2: Symmetry
You want to create symmetry in both width and height. That being said, both sides don’t have to be the same. But in general, if you have 3-4 items on the left, you will want to have about that same amount on the right.
Here, I have a stack of vintage books, my favorite bunny head and a plant on the right. Books are an easy way to decorate your mantel.
On the left I have a large print, some candlesticks and a candle jar. Both sides have 4 items. It wasn’t intentional, but it ended up looking the best.
Tip #3: Add height
You want to add visual height to the space. I like to use books to raise objects if they feel too small or short. Adding the stack of books under the bunny not only adds height, it also grounds the space and allows the item to stand out rather than blend in with the white mantelpiece.
Tip #4: Use Greenery
One of my favorite tips is to use greenery. No fuss and a neutral space filler, I’ve never seen a mantel with plants that I didn’t like! You could also use this same rule with fresh flowers. You really can’t go wrong by decorating with a little bit of nature on your mantel for spring.
Follow these easy ideas and you will have a beautifully decorated mantel or bookshelf! Let me know if you try any of my tips!
