Unique and beautiful front door decoration ideas for summer. Come see how to transform your door for sunny days ahead!
Summer is here and it’s time to incorporate all the beautiful flowers into our decor. Peonies, Roses, Hydrangeas and Lilacs are my favorite summer flowers. And I made this pretty basket filled with lilacs for my front door. I love the soft colors and the unexpected hanging basket as part of my front door decoration for summer. I also have a ton of other ideas in store for you!
Front Door Decoration Ideas For Summer
If you struggle with ideas for decorating your front door, this post has so many ideas! From coastal wreaths to baskets filled with flowers, the creativity is flowing today.
Lilac Basket For Front Door Summer Decor
For spring I created this Hanging Basket Wreath filled with daffodils and cherry blossoms. I love it so much that I decided to switch it up and do something for summer.
Summer is lilac season and I love the whimsical look of pretty purple lilacs. However, they don’t grow that well here in California. I would love to fill my basket wreath with fresh lilac stems, but alas, there are none to be found around here.
So, I did the next best thing. I used faux stems that look like the real deal. Bonus points for lasting all season long too! I found my faux lilac stems from Afloral.com but I have linked other options as well for you below.
Creating this front door decor for summer was so simple. Just plop the blooms in the basket, tie a ribbon around it and you are done! The basket comes with a loop for hanging and I love being able to repurpose items for new projects. Be sure to check out my spring basket post if you are looking for details for assembly.

Hanging Basket Wreath With Peonies
Next up, is this beautiful Basket Wreath Filled With Peonies. You might start to think I’m a little obsessed with the hanging basket in lieu of a wreath on my front door. But, they are just so unique and not to mention soooo easy to put together. You can literally shove the stems into the basket without cutting them and all the mess is hidden by the basket! I love this as a different front door decoration for the summer (or any season really).
Sweet Summer Hoop Wreath
This Wildflower Summer Hoop Wreath is so cheery and colorful. Filled with all the California wildflowers, this really will bring a smile to your face. Hoop wreaths are minimalistic and I love this gold version.
White Rose Eucalyptus Wreath
A more traditional summer front door decoration, this White Rose Eucalyptus Wreath is made using a lush faux eucalyptus wreath and tucking beautiful garden roses (faux) into the base. Simple, easy and it definitely has that wow factor.
Coastal Front Door Decor
This DIY Clam Shell Wreath from Annie over at Most Lovely Things is simply beautiful. And her DIY looks like it’s not too hard – which is always a win in my book!
This Tangled Rope Wreath is so unique and love the nautical vibes it is giving me. Melaine at My Sweet Savannah has the full tutorial.

How do you hang your baskets from your front door?
ashley
Hi Penny. I have a nail on my door and the basket that I used has a rope loop on the back. I linked the basket in this post: https://www.modern-glam.com/spring-basket-arrangement-for-your-front-door/
