How To Make This DIY Spiderweb Wreath
You only need a few supplies to make this fun DIY Halloween wreath. I used a grapevine wreath from the Christmas section that was lightly flocked. This made the wreath feel lighter and really made those spiders pop! You could use a natural one if you can’t find a white version.
Next, just grab as many plastic spiders as you can find. I found a bunch in my garage bins and picked up a few new sparkly ones at the craft store. The bigger rubber spider makes quite the creepy statement on this easy DIY Halloween wreath don’t you think?!
Scary Halloween Wreath Supplies
- Flocked Grapevine wreath (found in the Christmas section)
- Plastic spiders. Assorted sizes adds to the interest
- Spider Web batting
- Copper LED lights (battery operated with timer)
- Floral wire
Assembling the Easy Halloween Wreath
First, wrap your LED lights around the wreath and secure the battery pack to the bottom back with floral wire. Make sure the switch is facing out so you can easily turn it on and off if needed.
I really like using the LED lights with the timer so that your lights go on everyday at the same time. These lights usually come with a 6 hours on, 18 hours off feature.
Next, start pulling the spider web material across the wreath to create a light web affect. Start at the back and pull down or across, using the branches to make the webbing stick. Then repeat this process going in the opposite direction.
Now, add the biggest spider to the bottom corner. Secure using floral wire if needed. And finish off the DIY Halloween wreath by sprinkling spiders here and there. Go as crazy or minimal as you want!
The spiders should naturally stick into the webbing. You don’t need to use wire or glue as long as they are small enough.
If you want to add a ribbon to hang the wreath, loop it through the top. You want to do this last so the spider webs stick to the grapevine stems.
Now, you have the perfect spooky and easy DIY Halloween wreath for your front door! I love how this wreath is neutral and can go with any color scheme – even my newly painted PINK front door!
