Simple Fall Mantel Decor
I love a beautifully decorated fireplace mantel. One of my favorite parts of fall is being able to add some touches of autumn to this focal point in our living room.
Nothing makes your home feel more like fall than warm colors, cozy textures and an aromatic scented candle.
This year, I wanted to keep things pretty simple. I went with the less is more approach and chose a few of my favorite items to add to this spot. Simple and neutral fall mantel decor.
How To Decorate a Mantel
Last year I used this Hello Fall sign on my fall front porch. I loved how it welcomed visitors by our front door. But, I also feel inspired to change up my decor.
I am a firm believer in reusing and repurposing items I love. I don’t go out and buy all new decor for each season. And I always shop my home and try to come up with new spots for my well-loved decor pieces! So, seeing this sign on my mantel as part of my neutral fall mantel decor makes me happy. And it serves as a daily reminder to savor every moment of fall. After all, it is my favorite season!
I adore mixing new and old items for a look that feels like it has been collected over time. And I tend to use items for their unintended purpose – a lot!
This vintage water pitcher was a gift for our wedding and it is the ideal vessel for some end-of-season hydrangeas. The pop of green adds a touch of life and joy to this fall mantel.
The key to keeping your fall mantel decor cohesive is to stick to a simple color palette. Here I used grays, browns and greens. And I let the pieces speak to the simplicity and glory of the season.
Including a stack of vintage books adds a load of character without confusing the color scheme. And it helps to elevate objects so the look doesn’t feel flat. A simple candle topped with a cloche adds to the look, but the glass keeps it feeling light and airy.
And since it is fall, a few of my adored Farmhouse Pottery ceramic pumpkins are the perfect addition!
