Make this cozy winter wreath idea using an old scarf! This easy DIY winter wreath requires no tools or sewing and only a few minutes to make. Come see how!
Once the holiday decor is put away and the porch is cleared off, your front door can feel a bit bare and sad. I love to dress it up with a winter wreath and this idea is so simple to make that anyone can do it!
Cozy Winter Wreath Idea
Do you feel sad once the holidays are over? January can feel a bit depressing and bleak. The weather is sometimes gloomy and the trees are bare. And while the stores are filled with spring decorations, it often feels just a bit too early to jump into the next season.
I like to embrace January and February and the winter season that we are in. Adding cozy elements to my home can help fill the void that was filled by all the twinkle and charm of the holiday season. I shared a little bit about how I create a cozy winter home last week in this post: Winter Decorating Ideas for January.
And decorating the front door with a cute wreath is one of my favorite ways to add some cozy charm to my home. Now, before I jump in and share how to make this winter scarf wreath, here are a few ideas from the archives that I know you will love:

How To Make A Winter Scarf Wreath
Project Supplies:
- Wreath Ring (I used a 12″ styrofoam base)
- Winter Scarf
- Pins
Assembling this wreath is so easy. Simply wrap your scarf around your wreath form leaving the ends hanging a bit. Once you have wrapped it around and meet the other end, use the pins to tuck any loose pieces in and shape the wreath a bit.
Finish by leaving the tassel or trim hanging down in front. Hang the wreath on your front door for an easy and cute way to dress up your front porch for winter!
What I love about this wreath is that you can use any scarf you have on hand. And since we aren’t altering or gluing the scarf at all, you can easily unwrap it and put it back in your closet at the end of the season.
A few notes: I used a 12″ styrofoam wreath form that I had on hand. You can use any wreath form for this project, just as long as the scarf can wrap around it easily. The styrofoam base makes it easy to pin the scarf into place. Lately, I am trying to buy less stuff and that includes craft supplies. The past two years I have made almost all of my wreaths repurposing supplies and materials.
