DIY Dried Orange Thanksgiving Place Cards
Today I’m sharing these beautiful modern DIY Dried Orange Thanksgiving Place Cards. They are so simple to make. Yet, they make your Thanksgiving table feel personalized and so special. After all, the holidays should be about elevating your every day entertaining style!
Here is how you can make these fun and unique Thanksgiving Place Cards for your holiday table.
Dried Orange Place Card Supplies
What you need to make these DIY place cards:
- Vellum Paper
- Permanent Ink Pen – I used this one
- Dried Flowers (I used Gypsum, Bunny Tails and Nigella)
- Ribbon
- Dried Orange Slices (see instructions for making your own below)
How To Dry Orange Slices
To dry orange slices for decorating and crafts, slice a navel orange into 1/4″ slices and place on a metal cooling rack over a baking sheet. Bake in the oven at 150F degrees for about 3 hours. Turn them every 30 minutes or so.
Each orange provides about 4-6 proportionately-sized slices.
How To Make Dried Orange Place Cards
Ok, once you have the orange slices dried, it’s time to assemble your Thanksgiving place cards.
Hand letter the names of your guests onto pieces of vellum paper cut into approximately 1″x5″ pieces. I used a black fine tip Micron pen to write each name. Punch a hole into the corner of the paper for securing to the assembled place cards.
Next, using a toothpick or something similar, poke a hole in the top of the orange slice. Thread a piece of your ribbon through the hole. Gather a few pieces of dried flowers together and secure them to the orange slice with the ribbon. And finally, tie the vellum to the place card with ribbon as well.
Neutral and modern Thanksgiving place cards that are easy to assemble. And they will make your Thanksgiving table feel personalized and more elevated than your every day table.
