Come tour my cozy but minimalist Christmas home. Holiday decor that is simple, yet still warm and inviting.
If you came over from Chrissy Marie Blog, welcome! I just adore Chrissy’s home and her style.
Over the past few years my style has slowly been changing to a more streamlined and simple style. 2020 has definitely given it the push it needed to reach it’s full minimalist vibe lol! I have been paring down and removing clutter and excess “stuff” all through the year. Less is more this year for me!
So, my home is definitely feeling more minimalist Christmas but still cozy, warm and inviting. Come on inside and I’ll show you around!
Our Cozy but Minimalist Christmas Home
Last week I shared our Cozy Christmas Kitchen. If you missed the post, be sure to start there and get 5 easy and tasteful ways to decorate your kitchen for Christmas!
Our home is a mixed palette of soft whites, warm woods and touches of gray and other neutrals. I like to keep the base layer of rugs, furnishings and cabinetry simple and then layer in accessories that coordinate with the seasons.
So, this year for our minimalist Christmas theme, I kept to a palette of green, gold, white and wood tones. Super simple, clean and a bit Scandinavian in feel.
I also, chose to forgo a lot of the extra things I usually use to decorate. Like my bottlebrush trees, collection of vintage ornaments and putz houses.
Less clutter, less stuff and a bit of simplicity in this crazy, hectic year we have had. I don’t know if you are feeling it too, but less is more lately for us here in our home.
Simple and Neutral Holiday Decor
So, in our living room, we have this new built in cabinet for our TV that was a birthday present from my husband. I love the extra storage, warm white oak shelving and another place to decorate for the holidays.
I filled the shelves some minimalist Christmas decor. Hand blown glass trees, artwork from Lindsay Letters, ornaments, brass bells and some candles.
I kept the palette very simple. Whites, golds and a touch of green. It’s simple and will last through the new year.
Minimalist Christmas Tree
Our new Christmas tree sets the tone in our great room. The paper snowflakes, candle lights, ceramic houses and wood garland are so pretty to look at. And it didn’t take me long to decorate! A minimalist Christmas tree that I am in love with.
Going with the Scandinavian inspired Christmas tree definitely means less decorating is involved, which I can get on board with!
You can see more details of my Scandinavian Inspired Christmas Tree here.
Cozy Minimalist Christmas Mantel
Our mantel is another example of how I have simplified and gone for more of a minimalist look this Christmas.
I swagged a 9 foot pre-lit garland across the mantel, hung a few chunky knit stockings off to one side and added some new artwork.
You can see more pictures and details HERE.
The artwork is from Lindsay Letters and I want Christmas to last forever so I can continue staring at it! I am a huge fan of her art if you haven’t noticed.
Oh, and I am bit obsessed with these flameless LED candlesticks. They have a remote and are pretty realistic looking!
Simple Green and White Holiday Porch
Ok, so before you go, I want to share with you my Christmas porch this year. In year’s past I have spent days upon days laboring over my holiday porch. Decorating, editing, changing and making it feel just perfect.
This year, I decorated the porch in under 20 minutes. I hung my favorite faux cedar garland above the doorway, added this faux evergreen tree to my wicker basket, hung a wreath and placed my gold lanterns on the side.
It was so easy, I almost feel like I can’t even call it styled. But, again, I am loving the cozy minimalist Christmas vibes, and this is right on par with that!
Minimalist Christmas Wreath
One of the most asked questions I get about my porch has to do with the wreath. You can read all about how I made it and where I got all the supplies in THIS POST.
I made the wreath using a faux cedar wreath that I had on hand. Simply tying some brass bells and ribbon to it was all that was required. Super simple, easy and quick. My favorite kind of holiday DIY! No tools required!
Thank you for coming by and peeking inside my cozy minimalist Christmas home. I sure loved having you over.
